Planning a Gift
The following pages will offer ideas as to how you can be a
part, truly a partner with us, in funding research seeking cures
for Alzheimer's disease, macular degeneration and glaucoma,
and providing the public with information about risk factors,
preventative lifestyles, available treatments and coping strategies.
There are as many different ways to support the American Health
Assistance Foundation (AHAF) as there are needs for your support.
One of the simplest ways to make a gift to AHAF is through your
Will. You may name AHAF, or one its programs, to receive a specific
amount or a portion of your estate (see Bequest
Language).
A bequest to AHAF offers immediate and lasting recognition
to the individual donor and helps the charity fulfill its mission
in the future, which will benefit others. A written Will guarantees
that your last wishes will be followed after your death. Remember,
you can always change your will, via a codicil,
should you decide to distribute your estate differently or to
change beneficiaries previously named in the Will.
Planned Giving is any gift that requires an agreement between
the donor and AHAF that authorizes what, when, and how a gift
is given. Planned giving supports AHAF while also helping you
achieve some of your personal, financial, and estate planning
goals.
Examples
of Planned Giving include:
- Estate Plans, including trusts that provide income to you
for life
- Bequests
- Gifts of Stock and other Appreciated Assets
- Memorial Gifts
- Endowment Gifts
How Can I...? and Planned
Giving Factors are introductory pages about planned giving.
Ways To Give provides some basic information
about a variety of planned giving opportunities.
If you have already included AHAF in your estate plans, please
let us know by calling us or filling out our declaration
of intention form. We would enjoy the opportunity to thank
you and would like to make sure your intentions are carried
out properly. If you have not written a will yet, regardless
of your charitable intent, please consider
this.
