David and Liz Kruidenier are honored as the Des Moines Symphony's first Honorary Maestros. The occasion was the pre-concert announcement that the Kruidenier Challenge had been met early ($1 million from the Kruideniers to match $1 million raised). That same evening, the Endowment Fund was renamed the Reece Stuart, Jr. Endowment Fund for the Des Moines Symphony. Reece Stuart, Jr. was the first President of the Board and Liz Kruidenier's father.
