FirstHealth of the Carolinas is concerned
with and committed to helping people
preserve their health and wealth.
The Foundation of FirstHealth is concerned
with finding the financial support
to fulfill its mission … to care for
people.
The Foundation realizes that before
anyone can be in a position to provide
charitable support, they must first
feel comfortable they have satisfied
their own long-term financial needs.
With this in mind, the Foundation
of FirstHealth established the Professional
Advisory Council in the 1980s. The
Council consists of volunteer professionals
in the community including attorneys,
certified public accountants, trust
officers, investment advisers, chartered
life underwriters, professional estate
and financial planners. (See
list)
The goal of the Council is twofold:
(1) to help potential donors achieve
maximum financial security; and (2)
to suggest ideas that allow the donor
to consider charitable support to
entities of FirstHealth of the Carolinas.
The intent of the Foundation is not
to take the place of the donor's professional
advisers, but rather, to work with
the donor and his/her advisers to
produce a comprehensive financial
plan that satisfies the donor's personal
and charitable interests.
A primary objective of the Professional
Advisory Council is to inform the
community about the benefits of estate
planning and charitable giving through
seminars and educational material.
The Council works with the Foundation
to provide the residents of our community
with creative ideas, information and
suggestions on estate planning strategies.
An organized approach to estate planning
can bring order to what may otherwise
be an overwhelming task. The Foundation
and the volunteer Professional advisers
believe this is an important public
service to offer our community.
