Planned giving refers to gifts that require planning, such as in making a bequest or establishing a trust. Often, there are immediate tax deductions and there are options that provide income for the life of the donor and their spouse. Planned giving also involves choosing the best asset to use to fund the gift to best serve the personal circumstances of the donor.
