Wish List
There are several key areas that we will want to focus on for the immediate future. One of the great benefits of planned giving is that we can work together as partners to focus your support on our needs that are most important to you. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to learn more about our plans for the future of Linn-Benton.
Student scholarships
Gifts to scholarships provide hard working students the ability to attend
college. Scholarship can assist with tuition, books, and living expenses.
They provide many students with the opportunity to attend college, to
reach for a dream, to change their lives and to positively impact their
family and the community. Scholarships can help students immediately.
Endowed scholarships, where only the interest in used, start at $15,000
and can expect to provide a payout of 5% annually to students. Endowments
are permanent and the interest payments (benefits to students) will continue
forever.
Program/operational endowments
Supporting additions to programs are a wonderful way to positively influence
the academic or technical area of your choice. Program endowments only
use the interest from the gift provided. These funds can be essential
in providing needed equipment to expand training -- the margin of excellence
that makes such a difference in each area. Endowments begin at $15,000
and only spend the interest generated annually. Endowments continue forever.
General support
The Foundation general fund provides scholarships, program enhancement
grants, capital construction funds, and in general provides the margin
of excellence that meets the needs of students. This fund is highly flexible,
and able to respond to opportunities as they arise. Undesignated gifts
to the LBCC Foundation, allow the Foundation Board of Trustees, leading
business and civic leaders, to put your gift to work where it is needed
most, and can create the greatest impact.
Baseball Field Renovation
The first phase of this effort will provide quality spectator seating,
press box and additional amenities that will make the facility attractive
to LBCC fans and players. The estimated cost of this portion of the project
is $93,000. The second phase adds lights that will encourage other baseball
groups to rent the facility, which would bring additional people to the
campus and strengthen our connection to the community. Estimated cost
for phase two is $225,000.
Culinary Arts: Wood-Fired Oven and Facility Enhancements
The LBCC Culinary Arts Program needs a wood-fired oven to provide instruction
on the creation and presentation of artisan breads.. Experience in this
unique form of baking will improve the marketability of culinary graduates.
Oven cost, is $12,500 + installation.
Science and Health Project
This $10 million dollar project will provide lab space allowing us to
serve an additional 3700 students. Construction of a new science building
and renovation of the current science labs are planned to meet the needs
of both students in health care, high tech, engineering as well as local
workforce demands. Private gifts are an essential part of this major project.
With $9 million committed from private gifts, the college and state allocations,
this project will change the face of science and health education on the
LBCC campus, making a difference to both students and the local economy.
Please consult with your personal financial and estate planning advisors in order to determine how a gift to the LBCC Foundation can fit your objectives. We look forward to hearing from you!
